Prepare Yourself

Physical and mental fitness is essential for this trip as you are traveling to extreme weather conditions and high altitudes. To enjoy this program at its best you must start preparing yourself at least one month prior. Here are few suggestions to be followed.

  • Daily jogging and walking for about 6-7 kms.
  • Healthy diet with maximum intake of fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • Exercise and practice breathing exercise (Pranayam) regularly.
  • It is advised to drink plenty of water to remain hydrated before and during the journey.


  • Wind proof jacket with hood/parka
  • Sweaters
  • Balaclava (monkey cap)
  • Woolen or leather (water proof) gloves
  • Woolen/cotton long johns/warmers/mountaineering trousers
  • Thin polyester, woolen and cotton socks
  • Pants, jeans and lowers
  • Full sleeve shirts and T-shirts
  • Sun glasses/snow glasses (with UV protection)
  • Mandatory trekking shoes
  • Raincoat/poncho
  • Belt pouch or small backpack for your passport, camera (video cameras are not allowed), money, medicines and documents
  • Large plastic sheets for water proofing your luggage
Kindly do not carry any Saris and Dhotis.

  • Rescue evacuation cost in case of emergency.
  • Expenses of personal nature viz. soft/hard beverages, photography charges, porterage at the airports/hotels, laundry, tips, telephone calls etc.
  • The hiring charges for pony & porter during Kailash parikrama.
  • Nepal Visa Fee (not required for Indian passport holders).
  • The organization will not be responsible if someone misses their flight on account of any reason.

  • CHINA INDIA PILGRIMAGE SERVICE CENTER located in Lhasa, Tibet, the sole organizer for handling Indian travelers traveling to Kailash Mansarovar has the right to reject permit for the group.
  • Likewise, the THE TIBET TOURISM BUREAU located in Lhasa handling NRI & Foreign nationals has the right to reject permits for the group.
