Yes, Uttar Pradesh Government offers a subsidy of Rs 1,00,000/- to support pilgrims. The subsidy is provided to every pilgrim of Uttar Pradesh who has been to Kailash Yatra by government or by any private travel agent. It can be availed once in a lifetime.

A: Yes, a valid passport is a must for the pilgrims who want to go for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.

A: Indian citizens don’t need to have a visa for Nepal. Non-Indian citizens require a 15-day multiple entry visa that can be used on arrival at Nepal airport.

A: According to China’s rules and regulation, individual travel to mount Kailash is not allowed. You have go with a well-organized group tour.

A: Yeas, the route for the 13-day mount Kailash tour is- Lhasa-Gyantse-Shigatse-Lhatse-Saga-Baryang-Darchen-Mt.Kailash-Lake Manasarova-Saga-Shigatse-Lhasa.

A: The best time to visit Mount Kailash is around end of April to July and mid-Sep to early Oct. During winters & spring season roads might be blocked by snowfall in eastern Tibet and Mount Kailash. In August, heavy rainfall makes travel very difficult.

A: Generally, the age factor is not a barrier. From 14 to 60 years, anyone can take part in this trip. You must have good physical & mental health. Get a medical checkup before you plan for the journey. People with back pain may face problems during the journey on the rough road.

A: Mount Kailash is situated at a very high altitude, the climate is too cold so it’s recommended to keep a warm sleeping bag and warm clothes, including warm jackets, thermo coat, monkey cap, masks, gloves, sunscreen lotions, and sun glasses. The wind is very strong at a few routes, so wind-proof clothes are also recommended.

No, as Chinese authorities do not give permission for climbing on Mount Kailas. You can complete Parikrama & can go near the mountain from some points.
