The divine temple holds importance in both Hinduism and Buddhism. The main shrine of Muktinath is considered as one of the eight most sacred shrines in Hinduism. The centuries old temple is believed to be the place visited by Lord Vishnu. In 1818, Tibetan Yogi, Shabkar also visited this place and spent few days here, connecting with the divine. The construction of the temple was overseen by the Nepali queen, Sabarna Prabha.

From the very name, it is clear that ‘Mukti’ means salvation. The place is believed to provide salvation to the believers. In the backyard of the temple, there are 108 waterspouts that continuously flow with frozen water, out of a bull’s head. Taking bath in these waterspouts is believed to provide salvation from birth and rebirth.
It is also referred to as ‘mukti-kshetra’ and legend has it that several people visit the place after death! It is said that souls visit here to achieve salvation or Mukti.
In Hinduism, Muktinath is a representation of Lord Vishnu. It is believed that Lord Shiva and Jalandhar battled for supremacy at this place. It is also believed that Guru Rinpoche, founder of Tibetan Buddhism meditated at this place. Another famous legend is associated with death of Sati, at this place. It is from the legend of Sati, that the place derives its name. Lord Shiva wandered with the dead body of Sati and also visited this place. It is a “Shakti Peeth”. It is believed to provide “mukti” or salvation from one’s deeds.

Our designated drivers would know where to take you. The earmarked mystical places include Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Square. The itinerary also includes a visit to Kasthamandap and Living Goddess, Kumari. In the second half of the day, enjoy the scenic drive to Pokhara. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Nepal. The view of the Himalayan Range and the lakes from Pokhara is simply breath-taking. Relax and soothe your senses with the beauty of the nature that the place offers. An overnight stay is planned in Pokhara.
In the morning, our representatives would coordinate your pick and drop at the airport. From the airport, it is a 30-minute flight to Jomsom. We would organize a cozy stay in a hotel in Jomsom. Our representatives would coordinate your shifting to the hotel. Post check-ins, we have organized a walk to Kaligandaki River. It is a 20-minute walk, and it is totally worth it. Post the walk, we would take you to the local Jeep-stop. It is a 19 kms drive to Muktinath from here and it mostly takes 1.30 hours.
From the Muktinath Jeep station, it is a further 40-minutes’ walk to reach the temple. Walking might sound tiresome, but is highly recommended if you are a true seeker. Although you can avail, further travel by Jeep, at an extra cost. You can also travel by a mule.
The Muktinath temple is bound to relieve you off all your mental and physical stress. The holy place offers 108 water spots. Here you can immerse your body and soul and feel instantly rejuvenated. The holy dip at Muktinath is widely believed to remove all your sins and make you feel spiritually alive.
Later in the day, return back to Jomsom via same route and relax at the hotel in Jomsom for an overnight stay.
Take your breakfast at the hotel in Jomsom, while reminiscing the day gone by. We would coordinate your drive to the Jomsom airport, from where you would fly to Pokhara. We have planned an exotic day of sightseeing in Pokhara. The designated places include Bindyabasini Temple, Davis Falls, GupteshwarMahadev Cave, Phewa Lake and Tal Barahi Temple.
Spend a relaxing evening at the Lakeside Market and stay overnight at Pokhara.
Take breakfast at the hotel and prepare yourself for a drive back to Kathmandu. While in Kathmandu, you can avail the opportunity to travel by a cable-car and reach Manakamana Temple. An overnight stay is planned in Kathmandu.
Post the breakfast at the hotel, we would coordinate your drop-off at the Kathmandu Airport, from where you can fly back to your destinations.
